One of a kind
What brought me to Doc. Rowan were homeopathic remedies for vaccine reactions. Where other vets failed, Doc. Rowan did not. I have also sent him several of my clients to assist with problems the owner's regular vet was unable to and other vaccine reaction dogs. We are lucky to have him in our geographic area.

My Kitties LOVE Dr. Rowan
I started seeing Dr. Rowan after I adopted two kittens Elliot and Luna from a shelter. Both babies came with bad colds and eye infections. Dr. Rowan assured me they would be fine. He gave me something for their colds, and they both got much better. But Elliot's eye infection was stubborn. Dr. Rowan gave him a homeopathic remedy and he was perfect just three days later! My kitties LOVE to go see him. The love getting adjusted and the laser treatment.
Dr. Rowan Saved My Kitten
Dr. Rowan is a wonderful, compassionate vet! I rescued a kitten with some deformities who became very sick. When I brought Beau to him, he was lethargic, drooling, near death. Dr. Rowan discovered that he had serious neurological issue that was preventing him from swallowing. Most vets would have told me to euthanize him, but Dr. Rowan worked on him for 3 hours that day, trying to find a remedy that would help him. Beau stabilized, then the next day he was fine. He had two episodes since, but I give Beau the remedy and he comes out of it faster each time. He has been episode-free for 2 weeks now!
Why We Love Dr. Rowan
My dog Willie suffered a severe back injury a little over a year ago. We were living in Charlottesville at the time, and the only alternative care I could get for Willie was acupuncture. It did help him tremendously, but he never improved past a certain point. We were able to move back to Virginia Beach last summer, and I got Willie in with Dr. Rowan right away. The gentle chiropractic combined with the laser has done wonders for my sweet dog. Willie is a Golden Retriever, and big dogs like this have a tendency towards back and hip trouble. Seeing Dr. Rowan for regular therapy, or "tuneups" as I like to call them, keeps Willie pain free and mobile. This is very important as Willie is currently in training to be a therapy dog and will serve on the Library Dog team in Virginia Beach. He has important work to do, and with Dr. Rowan's help, we will be able to do it.

Dr. Rowan is a gem
I met Paul Rowan 22 years ago when he was a very active Board member of
the VA Beach SPCA. Not only is he among the ³smartest² veterinarians I
have known over those two decades, he is among the most compassionate. I
have seen Dr. Rowan diagnose an animal that had puzzled other vets and
then propose a treatment that actually alleviated the condition. He has
been a stalwart supporter of the animals at the VA Beach SPCA and has
returned to us each week to provide his "laser magic² which is what our
staff call it. Shelter animals sometimes have a congenital condition or
an old injury which was not treated properly and they all benefit from Dr.
Rowan¹s magic. His treatment not only reduce their discomfort but provide
that little extra time and attention that shelter animals need. His
visits also provide our staff with a chance to assist him and learn from
him, that is an additional benefit.
Dr. Rowan is a gem both in this community and at the VA Beach SPCA. We
are so grateful for his years of dedication to us and to the animals.
